Abstract
The film shows th impressive success story of the ancient khorasan wheat variety grown exclusively organic and Non-GMO on farms in Montana and Saskatchewan. From humble beginnings, the grain is now marketed around the world under the KAMUT brand name. The story starts with 36 wheat kernels from Egypt in 1949 that develops into a buisness today that contracts more than 220 organic farmers to grow the grain to export to markets throughout the world. The film is about pioneers on new frontiers, suistanable farming on the prairie, sound science, and good and healthy food. It portrays modern ferm heroes from a Native American farmer to an organic farmin US Senator to innovative organic bakers, pasta makers and chefs in the USA, Canada, Italy and Germany.
